A full of beans kinda day
Ethan & I were up at 6.30am today. Far too early for my liking, especially at the weekend, but as he'd slept through from 7pm, I can't really complain! He was in a really good mood and we had great fun playing together while hubbie had a lie-in till 9.30am!
I decided to take him to the library as I had a few books to return, but went for a shower first. In the time it took me to shower, dry my hair and get dressed, he had eaten a second breakfast (he demolished all of hubbies porridge, despite having already had a bowl earlier) and was sound asleep on the sofa! He slept from 10.45am - 12.45pm! As the library closes at 1pm, that was that idea out the window!
After lunch, I took him for a walk to the swingpark on his pushalong trike. It's the first time he has been out on it and although he was a bit bemused at first, he soon took to it!
His dinosaur pram boots have started to really fall apart now he's going outside in them, so hubbie and I took him down to Clarks in McArthur Glen to get measured for a pair of cruisers. They said he's a 4G but when they tried a pair of them on him they decided that he'd need a 5G ... however they didn't have a single pair of cruisers in stock in that size! I think most toddlers with that size feet are actually walking properly as they have lots of walkers in that size but not so much demand for cruisers! So we went through to The Centre to the main Clarks shop to see if they had any, even though we'd need to pay full price. There they decided he is a 4G after all and had a choice of 4 different shoes. They told us they were all around the £20 mark so we chose the ones we liked best and went to pay ... at the till they told us the ones we were getting were actually only £10 - bargain! As he'll probably only be in them for a matter of weeks till he does need walkers, it's just as well we didn't have to spend too much.
As it was a glorious day outside, we then headed up to the Almond Valley Heritage Centre to have a wander round and look at the animals. Ethan was particularly entranced by the lambs and spent ages trying to touch them through the gate. They're obviously used to it as they weren't bothered in the slightest.
The weekly shop at Sainsbury's followed, where Ethan managed to nab himself loads of samples to keep him going till dinner time. Back home, he wolfed down his meal and we then went out to play in the garden. He was getting frustrated that the decking isn't big enough for him to walk far with his baby walker, so I took him out the front. I expected him to walk up and down the driveway a few times but he kept on walking down the street, and kept going, nearly as far as the playpark and all the way back again! I was very impressed at his stamina!
Funnily enough after all that exercise and fresh air, he fell asleep straight after his bottle and crashed out in his cot straight away. Wonder if there is any chance of a lie-in tomorrow from him!
