~~Backblip~~

It's strange backblipping this, as my mood today is a million times different from how it was on Thursday.

Thursday was a rubbish day. Mathew has been ill since we left Scotland on Sunday. Things took a turn for the worse on Wednesday night, and he woke up at 4ish coughing badly, and really struggling to get his breath. Not many of you will know this, but from time to time it becomes necessary for him to go into hospital. He's gone just about 300 days without having to stay in (I know this because the last time he got out was the day I bought my camera... and I started blipping a couple of days later). On Thursday morning he went in to see what was up and what they could do, and they said they wanted him in.

His health in general, that news, and lack of sleep made it a rubbish day. The first part of the day was made up with concern for him... the second part (and this always happens) was made up of my rage at the hospital. They want him in, but... no beds.

Anyway, not all is doom and gloom... like I said, I'm in a different mood now!

One good thing out of Thursday... I'd been thinking about blip and decided what I wanted to do... this SP turned out more or less exactly as I had imagined it in my mind... the processing may be a bit hit or miss, but the principle of the natural window-light vs dark background worked. There was actually more detail in the background than I wanted, but I shot in raw & upped the blacks... and got the final result. The detail in my left eye is a bit of a bonus... didn't count on that :)
