Time to fill up again?

One thing I have thought about since the February earthquake is my reliance on petrol. All petrol stations were closed in the days following the quake as they had to be checked for safety (one had its tanks rise up through the forecourt in the September quake!). Following this, they quickly ran out of any stocks they had.

The roads were bad so not many tankers got through and then once they did there were big queues with most petrol stations only allowing you $20 worth at a time.

Luckily I had a full tank at the time because the other issue was the length of time it took to get anywhere with many roads closed and lots of traffic. You sat for ages going nowhere.

I don't like cycling because of the traffic - I feel very vulnerable - but it was looking like a good option.
