Mother Comfort's Orchids

Periodically, my sweet husband buys his mother orchids because she loves to grow them. Recently, she had him get one for me. Here is my orchid. All the buds have opened and I have to say, I enjoyed the little shadow that appeared on the wall because we saw the sun. This is a real shadow, one produced by sunlight that came in a real window. I like things that are real and things that are true.

I'm just sayin', that's what I like, and today had a good measure of things that were real. Shadows were real, words spoken were real, the joy in my heart when I encountered new friends and old, all real.

Blip makes me happy...that is real too. Knowing that I am away at a ladies conference and my sweet husband is going to see this on his computer in a few minutes...that's very real. Maybe tonight my mom, sister, niece, friends, who knows... might see it too. Maybe in the morning, but when they do, they see a little bit of what I saw and that's real. The fact that this could have never happened 20 years ago...real. Orchids look fake to me, but they're real. How can a type of flower, so consistently, look perfect? Most orchids look perfect. That doesn't seem real...but it is.
