Wonder

We woke up to a wonderful surprise this morning. We have been raising various spring creatures and I was growing rather worried about our chrysalis because the were looking a little less lively than I thought they should look. However, when we woke up this morning one had already emerged and two more followed through the morning. One left to go and looks like he/she will be fine as well. So glad this did not happen yesterday as we were driving to all ends of the city for appointments and errands and would have missed the big event we have been waiting for. When the butterflies first break through they are a bit comatose and as long as you are careful this is a good time to hold them because they cannot yet fly. Ella's little friend really woke up when she was holding him and crawled all over her. She was tickled, in all aspects of the word. We will release them in a day or two when we know they will be safe enough to escape the birds. They may have to make an encore appearance on blip before then:)
