Load Bearing

These 'joints' connect and hold up the innards of T5 at Heathrow. The are clearly very well engineered but they are also curiously pleasing to the eye - well, mine at least - as points of interesting modern architecture.

On wilder days of imagination I wonder what they'd look like if they had happy smiling faces painted onto the joints, or perhaps a marauding alien invader 'look' with multi-limbs to give what can just be another 'functional' place a bit of zest.

Ah well, back to drizzly reality - dogs to walk in the rain. That'll dampen down thoughts of spicing up the country's travel terminals.
