.........and therefore no fun for these sports in this area. I don't know what the sanctions are for transgressors:

- a quiet word in their ears of 'dont do it again'?
- a loud word in their ears of 'dont do it again'?
- a visit by the local constabulary to the parents of the offenders?
- a warning by the police?
- arrested and charged with being in possession of a skateboard / football / bicycle with intent to cause mayhem / noise / injury / inconvenience?
confiscation of skateboard / football / bicycle?
- An ASBO (do they still exist?)
- .......dare I say it......be 'moved on'. Whatever that means nowadays?
- no sactions - its just an unenforceable sign?

I don't know. But I'm sure its there for a reason.
