St-Martin-in-the-Fields
What a great day. It was absolutely Baltic outside - brrrrr. The gloves, scarf and hat have all made a reappearance after being packed away last weekend. I ambled down to the Tate Modern to meet a friend visiting from Brighton - I hadn't seen him for a long time. We perused the permanent collection, then met F at the Royal Academy where we visited the 'From Russia' exhibition again. Now I've been twice, I can say which couple are my favourites:
Philipp Malyavin's Peasant Woman Dancing
Henri Matisse's The Red Room
After a coffee and cake, we went to St-Martin-in-the-Fields, acting upon a flyer that we'd been given earlier in the day to see classical music by candlelight. It was fantastic. The orchestra, the Belmont Ensemble of London, were enthusiastic players and the music was wonderful, especially Bach's Concerto for Two Violins in D Minor and Vivaldi's Four Seasons.
