Moments

I have definitely figured out what type of photography is most pleasing to me......moments. A moment captured with the camera. This is what fuels me and inspires me to push onward. A small glimpse. A warm feeling. A look that is not necessarily a pose. A moment where love radiates throughout the entire photograph. This is what I strive to do. This is what I hope that I will always continue to do. A moment is natural. A moment is forever.

This morning I had a little photoshoot. A friend of mine asked if I could take photos of her baby. She has floor to ceiling windows in her living room, making the space ideal for lighting. I joked with her that I would gladly pay her to be able to rent out her house for photo shoots.

And her baby was just a darling little girl. Bright eyed. Curious. Mild mannered. And throughout the majority of the shoot, she just stared straight into the lens. E.A.S.Y. is what that is. I actually had time to get spot on focus. It was amazing. I told my friend that her baby was in the lead for being the easiest baby to photograph. And we got some precious photos. I'm really pleased with how they are turning out.

I chose this photo based upon the 'moment' that I feel is captured here. The Mom was not expecting to be photographed and was a bit reserved about it. When I asked her to just hug her baby and glance over at me, I got the photo that I was hoping for. A photo where you can see the love in her eyes. The love for her baby girl. And even better, when I showed her the image on my screen, she was pleasantly surprised. I asked permission to use this photo for my blip and she was more than willing to support my 'one photo a day' addiction. :)

Busy busy busy day today with photo shoot, spin class, first T ball practice and a delightful book club. A great great day all the way around..........
