Art Critique

Today was the beginning of a three day course in "Pocket Sketching" taught by Kath Macaually. During the six hour day, 12 students completed six drawing exercises using the techniques developed by Kath. The whole idea is to complete a sketch in 20 minutes on a 4 x 6 inch sketch pad using an ink pen and water colors. It was my first contact with the water color medium and I still have a lot to learn about what pigments to mix to result in various colors.

In this this photo, Kath is reviewing one of my sketches. She is a great teacher and a very kind and encouraging critiquer.

Somehow out of this course I hope to understand water colors and of course develop a better eye for composition.
