Ravenroyd

I had intended a 'fool' blip today but took this on my morning walk and liked it enough to post it.

The walk was the 'River walk' we did two months ago at the end of January but this time we walked it in reverse (not literally!)

The route follows the River Aire from Myrtle park in Bingley to the hamlet of Ravenroyd before turning up through the woods to St Ives.

Before doing either of these walks I confess that I had never heard of this Hamlet. The house (best viewed in large) looks 16/17th century in origin as it has mullion windows of that period but apparently the hamlet is much older as it appears in the Doomsday Book.

The house is now the base for a riding stables.
