A view from Jeanneb

By Jeanneb53

On an April morn.

Last week I took a huge number of photographs of our Magnolia Soulangia in flower but as the sun had gone off it I decided to post something else.

I then spotted a magnificent pink magnolia in a nearby garden and took pictures of it from the front and from the back from the local park. (Felt a bit like a peeping Tom doing this!) But the bees came and I couldn't resist them so again the picture wasn't posted.

Today I have taken this surviving, undamaged flower as last night was very cold giving us an early morning sharp frost followed by the sun which 'burned' the delicate petals. I noticed the same with the glorious neighbours tree.
At least today has been beautifully sunny but those early flowers have suffered.

It will be wind and rain next (or worse) which will knock all the blossom off our village cherries that are just coming into bloom.

Happy Palm Sunday everyone - not long to go for all that chocolate!!!
