An Odd Place For Death

I was walking on the UPenn medical campus this afternoon and in the corner of my eye, I spotted a squirrel high up in a tree. It was far from my eye and at first I wasn't even sure of what it was. Here you see the zoomed & cropped shot I decided to use as my blip (it won out over the inside of an heirloom tomato and an attractive bag of groceries).

But what's so interesting about this squirrel? It happened to be dead. Why it died in a tree, some thirty feet above the grass, along a paved walkway, I'm sure I will never know, but it is what it is: A dead squirrel, way up in a tree.
