A thorouhgly lazy day, apart from a mid-afternoon trip to Donabate for a breath of fresh air and a blip wander, and (the highlight of the day) an evening visit to friends Derek and Rita. Despite appearances, it was chilly enough at Donabate, so the walk along the beach was quite a bracing one (despite which a couple of boisterous and intrepid children still couldn't resist the tug of the water). It was the other, hand-in-hand couple who caught my attention, though.

We had a pleasant chat and a few cups of yummy Nespresso coffee, and then went on to watch Death at a Funeral (the British original, not the recent US re-make), specially rented for the occasion on Derek's Apple TV. It was a bit disappointing, though it did have a few laughs. A really pleasant and enjoyable end to the day, all the same, since it's a long time since we've watched a film together.
