My mate Darryl the Dugong
Today it was ?pissing down? in sunny Sydney so a great day to stay indoors; unfortunately we got absolutely drenched getting indoors. Brilliant plan Otagolad!!! So it?s off to the aquarium in Darling Harbour we went. I fell in love with this particularly large animal and must have used a gazillion pixels photographing him. He was so graceful for a large and not very athletic looking animal.
It got me thinking......
It was unfair to just call him a Dugong he deserves a name, if I need one so does he therefore I named him Darryl...it suited him!! It was fascinating to watch the graceful way he cruised around his tank looking for more food, he would have been so uncoordinated out of water but this was his natural habitat and we had the honour of seeing why that is. It is my hope that, not just Dugongs, but all animals continue to have a natural habitat to live in. We have to learn to share this planet with all species not just maraud it for our own benefit. Long live the Dugong and long live my mate Darryl......
