Model Making - Day 4

As I had to go to work early on Wednesday, I was unable to spend a full day in the workshop.

However, I spent some of my limited time creating the back comparment where my electronics will be kept. Using felt, I wrapped and glued it around a piece of card to act a cover to keep the curcuit hidden when in use on the clients wall. I attached small pieces of velcro to the corners of the felt and the backboard to allow it to be removed if the user wants to change the battery for instance.

I also coated the sides and corners of the bamboo frame and backboard with MDF sealer to add a darker finish to the match the glossy finish of the bamboo to look more aesthetically pleasing. I used this as there was no gloosy ot matt paints available in the workshop but I felt this worked well and tied in with the top shinier surface of the bamboo.
