On Call moan

Sorry to be negative but thats how i always feel at the start of On call and i began today at 5pm for a week.

Its damn annoying. Granted we only have to do it 1 week in 10 but it has a massive impact on my life.

No drinking all week in case called out and trust me the stress of some of the calls we recieve makes a glass of wine seem very appealing (the irony). The fear when the pager or phone rings about what you are facing at the other end. Having to stay in easy travelling distance in case of emergencies ( I always get wanderlust the second i start and spend my time thinking of lovely places i'd visit if not tethered to the area.) And worst of all the payment. £5 per day its an insult. I'm actually day off for 3 days of my on call this time not that it makes a difference i'll still be waiting for calls. I might just go into work.

Moan moan moan. Roll on next friday.

On the plus side the on call log looks great in the photo thanks to the holographic cover. Every cloud springs to mind, as does grasping at straws.
