I could sit here ...

I could sit here until the middle of next week / month / year / ..., but I wouldn't be able to figure out why a council that's planning to close libraries, close recycling centres, cut arts funding by 100% (i.e. stopping all funding to the arts) and outsource many of its services (including my job) in order to save money, can possibly justify hiring a "business improvement director" for £800 a day, even if it is for 'only' six months.
Wished I'd known about this at yesterday's question and so-called answer session with the Suit from County Hall.
