Dumplings of joy

Katherine's name for meringues... These ones, made with half brown sugar and taken out of the oven promptly to ensure maximum chewiness, met with her approval. The shot is mainly because LLP pointed out the relative cleanliness of my oven door the other day, so I thought I'd better take advantage before this (low down, therefore less used) oven becomes as encrusted with stuff as the other one.

Dull, dull day, sweet stuff aside. Long lie-in trying to figure my life out. Failed. So have carried around all day a feeling of discontent. Hence the meringues, which will cheer anyone up. And a chicken and veg pie, which was pretty darned fine. So yes, a comfort eating kind of day.
