White Butterbur II

Another of Aberdeenshire's distinctive clumps of White Butterbur, Petasites albus.

This patch grows on the dam holding back the millpond at Manar, where the two Burnhervie roads meet just west of Inverurie.

The carpet of reddish-brown beech leaves makes an interesting contrast to the green mossy background of the blip I posted on 28th February this year of another clump of this distinctive species at Hirn, Aberdeenshire.
