Orthodontist Consult

Ughhhhh....first day of Spring Break and Loren and Liam had consultations with the orthodontist. I'm sure they were loving me for that, but those kind of appointments are better to get over with so I don't have to get them out of school. I dragged Ryen and Landon along as well. We had never been there before and went upstairs and walked right in. We thought we were at the right place, only to have a lady ask what we were there for. I look around and realize it was an accountant's office (after my kids had grabbed M&Ms out of their candy dish). I wasn't paying attention and had followed Loren into this office. "It said Suite D, mom." Well, apparently there was a D-1 and a D-2. We felt a little funny and I laughed and said that I might need an accountant after the orthodontist bill hits me. :) She laughed along and that's when I also realized the boys will be re-brushing their teeth in the orthodontist's office (right across the way) because they weren't supposed to eat before their appointment. Sure enough, once I got into the RIGHT place, the lady confirmed that chocolate in the teeth wouldn't be a good thing in the pictures of their mouths that they were about to take.

After pictures, meeting with the orthodontist and meeting with the person in charge of explaining the procedures AND the money....I was a bit overwhelmed. During these talks, the boys are playing with the sample jaws/teeth non-stop, making them talk and such. Well, it will end up being $4,200 a kid and they BOTH need braces! Looks like we will be putting off that new truck for Gary after all! Since Liam needs them the worst, we will be starting with him...we certainly can't afford both at the same time. Breathe, Tonya, breathe.
