Bryan Robson's Red and White Army

Today's blip is dedicated to one of my all time heroes, in the news that he has recently had surgery for throat cancer. Hopefully, it looks as though he will be ok.

An England legend (one of our greatest ever captains), the man achieved just about everything at United before coming to our own little club and propelling us into the big time within a matter of months. He also, quite honourably, accepted the help of Terry Venables when the going got tough for the good of the club, even though he probably stayed a few months too long.

I feel privileged to have seen him grace the Ayresome turf on numerous occasions, even in the twilight years of his career he was second to none on the pitch.

I was present at the above game; 3-0 down at half-time and lost 4-2 after Marco Gabbiadini ran rings around the rabbit in the headlights that was Keith O'Halloran, but we still went on to win the First Division title under his leadership. This blip is of a framed/signed photo which takes pride of place in my apartment, a present from my girlfriend.

Imagine someone who epitomises a quitter, well he is the exact opposite. Cancer will have its work cut out taking him on. All the best Robbo, though I know you'll be fine.
