My Boys

Brad my boyfriend is building my Solar Thermal Water Heater today with the help of my Dad, Furby and Tank. The boys can't help but try to get attention. If Furby is getting attention then big Tank has to get kisses too.

By the weekend my new system will be tested and I will blip it. After this project I have 4 other Thermal Heaters to build that are solar powered and a Wind Turbine Generator. I'm no rocket scientist but it's amazing what you can learn from DIY YouTube videos and research online. The goal is to get off the grid eventually or at the very least to have a functioning solar/wind back up plan.

This shift toward Energy Freedom isn't sudden, I've been preparing and building a self sustaining lifestyle for my family for over 5 years. We are prepared for anything and getting more prepared for the future. We live so far from town that we need to be able to grow our own food and have water reserves etc in case the gas prices and food prices keep soaring.

I'm not special, paranoid or nuts, a long time ago I had a vision though that it was my responsibility to prepare my family and take care of all our needs independent of outside sources. Due to recent events I would say it's a good thing I listened.
