A Battle Lost

And it came to pass that after a morning of drizzle and half light, the heavens parted and the sun appeared and shone upon that land.
But the people were sore afraid at this phenomenon and anxious that this was not what was ordained by those in high places.

But the sun continued to shine and much rejoicing was heard in the Dower House.

And the people therein felt energised and did plant out and water their blooms from the land of flowers , and were well content with their afternoon's travail, making welcome at this time, kith and kin who came bearing tidings but no gifts.

After the kin departed to fresh pastures, did His Lordship and her Ladyship watch the battle between Scotland and England on fields of mud a long way hither, and did her ladyship blip a section of the Flodden Wall in anticipation of a rout of the Scots on those foreign fields.

And did His Lordship and His Ladyship wail and gnash their teeth at the end of battle when their men in blue were vanquished after a fight well fought and the auld enemy victorious yet again with the silver cup held aloft for all to see and marvel at.

But at 22-16, it could have been worse.
