How can we see ourselves in a broken mirror?
I took a wander around Bradford 1 art gallery today.
As well as an exhibition of Hockney's fairy tale illustrations there was a much more interesting exhibition about contemporary beauty by photographer Zed Nelson

"We live in a society that celebrates & iconises youth, where the old, the aesthetically average & the fat have been erased from our glossy magazines, posters & television screens.
We are brainwashed into believing that in order to be loved we need smaller noses, bigger breasts, tighter skin, longer legs, flatter stomachs & to appear ever youthful."
After this exhibition just around the corner there was another temporary pop up art exhibition which included a huge broken mirror on the floor, the subject of my blip, and it made me wonder how can we ever see ourselves in such a broken mirror as our society provides?
