The miniature library

I love libraries, the smell of books, the shuffling of newspapers and occasional cough breaking the austere stillness & quiet.

The continual expectation someone will go SHHHHHHHHH!

Libraries are full of odd characters as well.

Quite often libraries are somewhere warm for oddball people to go & surround themselves with knowledge (along with the students and those acquainting themselves with books without pictures for the first time).

I like to think just sitting there will allow you to soak up some of the facts!

I popped into Bradford library today (what a fantastic monolith of 60's architecture it is, I suspect the fittings and even the wallpaper are original!).

I like to browse the books the library sell off, the unwanted ones, the ones that no one takes out anymore, I like to rescue them. My flat is the book equivalent of the cats protection league.

Damn this sham government for attempting to destroy such a wonderful institution as the free library!

The ancient Greeks understood the importance and joy of knowledge for knowledges sake.

These days we only consider knowledge important if it gets us a career or somewhere further along in this pointless rat race.

Knowledge should not be just about money Mr Cameron & your lap dog Mr Clegg

Anyway I miniaturised this aerial view of Bradford library (making it look model like) using tilt shift generator for iPhone.
