Playing

Happy day today. I'm tired, but it's been good. The connection between the above images? Red, of course :)

We went to the play park despite both of us being tired and needing a nap, had a lovely time before the kids got out of school and it got too busy to carry on playing. Wrapped up and popped into the shop before going home, surveyed the chaos in the living room, and put Ben to bed. So so tempting (and so close) to falling asleep next to Ben. I really should be tidying up or making dinner or something... really really... Maybe I will in a bit.

We had pancakes for breakfast. And lunch. And I expect we will keep on having pancakes until we can't stand them any more. Pancake party tomorrow night, so maybe we'll hold off on pancakes for breakfast and lunch tomorrow. Need to go and make pizza dough now, only I remembered that I forgot to buy any mozzarella when we went to the shops. Hmm. So I don't know if I want pizza without mozzarella. Ben doesn't like my pizza anyway....

I kinda feel like I need to say that I don't make a point of entertaining Ben all day every day!! He can play really happily by himself, it's fascinating peeking round the corner to see what he's chattering on about to himself. He came in to the kitchen earlier with his motorbike (a small toy one), "cuddling" it because it had had a crash with his toy plane.

Five minutes later he was back, cuddling the plane because it had crashed into the motorbike and had got an ouch. They both (the motorbike and the plane) got kissed better, by Ben.

Yesterday morning Ben ended up "helping" me have a bath. I despair during those times. He'd been playing downstairs really happily. I told him I was going to have a quick bath. "Ok mummy, see you later".

30 seconds after I got into the bath he found a card showing his red plane. "Ben want red PLANE mummy" getting more and more irate / upset / disgruntled..... Gah. He ended up coming upstairs where I promised we'd find his plane, and then he helped by splashing, dropping things in the bath, dropping water out of the bath, pointing out the bubbles (that went on a while, there were lots). Complaining when the bubbles disappeared down the plughole. I thought he wanted his red plane?!

Suppose I'd better get a move on :) At least I don't feel like I'm about to fall asleep any more!
