Urban swan parade

What an amazingly sunny day.

We walked into town along the Thames this time and then returned via the Kennet canal. The bridge in the picture is a Brunel bridge of the Great Western Railway. It has its own plaque. The curved blue structure that you can see through the arch is the Horseshoe Bridge, a timber-clad iron-truss structure, built in 1891 so that horses towing barges could cross the river.

We saw this long parade of swans heading back towards town. They were arranged in a straight line with only a few mallard interlopers.

No herons today but black swans, grebes, coots, Canada geese, gulls and cormorants spotted along the walk. It was lovely to see some colours rather than the dull grey and browns of the past few weeks.

Had a quick look at cameras in town and got to hold the model I've been thinking about. Still not sure what the final decision will be.
