World Book Night.

I was not expecting to be given a book tonight. Not at all.

I went to an excellent book talk this evening at Oakham Castle, given by Elizabeth Chadwick. And was delighted and surprised to receive one of tonight's books when I arrived. I already have a copy, so i will keep this one, and pass on my old one. So as to keep the sharing going.
I think it is a lovely idea, and I hope lots of books now have appreciative new homes, and will be enjoyed by 100's of Thousands. I am reading another on the list: One Day. I am off to read it now, rather than waffle on about what a good idea all this is.

My reading has slipped very badly during the last two years. It might only be a coincidence, but it feels like the dip started the more time I spent on my computer, and in particular social websites.
I do enjoy them, and have met some amazing and fond people through them. But I do miss the reading. So I intend to return to it more. And this evening is as good a time as any to start. An easy date to remember after all.
