Who's the Nutkin?
Grey squirrel in the Botanic Gardens, Edinburgh. I took a lunchtime stroll and mostly photographed flowers in the Botanics. As I was lining up for this hillside of crocuses, Mr Nutkin came along and stopped for a look at the nutter lying on the grass in office clothes with a camera. He didn't stop for long, obviously not impressed.
There's a well-orchestrated hate campaign against grey squirrels because they push their smaller, indigenous red squirrel cousins out. Typical Americans really. But in the parks of Edinburgh they're much loved and encouraged. I was certainly glad to see this fellow, even if he wasn't too impressed with me!
