How Royal

Today a monarch butterfly hatched in one of our primary classrooms. The teacher and students put her outside to dry her wings in the sunshine. She sat out on a bush on the quad right through lunch, which included a gathering of the whole school while we paid our respects for the Christchurch earthquake victims with a two minute silence.

At the end of break when I had to go and teach a class, she was still there sunning herself. I hope she got away safely.
