Magic Monday

We've waited a long time for a morning like this; beaucoup de turns in consistently fluffy powder, good light, low wind. And so today was one of the best, if not the best, powder day I've ever had.

The picture is not me, but you get the idea. With slow motion bouncy turns in knee deep powder kicking up snow around one's face it felt a little like being in a ski movie.

We skied off the Verte, the Borsat North, 'Wayne's Shoulder' off the Leisse (three times because it was amazing) and then got first tracks on the big face to the left of the Leisse, which we took in one thigh burning pop, pausing at the end to admire the atmospheric view through the rocks to the valley floor below, and catch our breath. After a wonderfully mellow run off the Cairn I left the group and headed back up, as they headed homeward. I couldn't stop skiing and repeated the Cairn four more times. Brilliant.

Let's hope there's something left in the legs for tomorrow.
