Born and brought up in Birmingham, England, but have lived in West Wales for 40 years, and love it here. I work as an advisor on the conservation of lichens, fungi and stoneworts. Now partially retired. Married, grown-up kids, two dogs.

Started to take it more seriously when I became interested in close-up photography of plants, including mosses. I've branched out since then, but still see myself as "testing the waters" - finding out what works, and what doesn't. I have no great aspirations other than to gradually learn how to take better photos, that please me and hopefully sometimes others. I occasionally like to mess around with new techniques - most recently 3D stereo anaglyph photography.

Writing computer software, building websites, plants and fungi, playing bass guitar, learning Welsh. And more.
