Photography:
Photography has been a passion of mine for about two years now. I sporadically uploaded photos to blipfoto for a while in 2010/11 and have recently reignited my passion for photography. I really want to commit to a photo a day for at least a year, hence my 365 project. I know that by looking through the lens of my camera everyday my composition will imporcve. Additionally, the challenge of thinking creatively everyday is excellent balance for my otherwise hectic day.

I am interested mostly in land/cityscape photography. I enjoy capturing an environment and providing context. Additionally I am very interested in macro/still life photography and I am working on setting up a home studio. People are not my favourite subjects but I would like to learn to photograph people better. I take the perspective of an art photographer focused on composition and visual interest rather than documentation or reportage.

Technical Stuff: I Primarily shoot with my Canon 7D but you will occasionally see photos from my Canon S100 and my iPhone 5. I am amazed with the camera in my new phone. I also am an avid film photographer (unlike many young people). I have a Canon F1 as well a Mamiya 6.

Biography:
Otherwise, I am a student at Crescent School in my final year busy preparing for university. My academic interest is science specifically chemistry and life sciences.I have had the opportunity to be involved with various research projects at the University of Toronto and Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Science is very important to me and I plan to study neuroscience at university (hopefully in the UK).

At school I am the editor in chief of the yearbook which is a great challenge. Especially on the 100th anniversary of the school.

I am also involved with various sports. Mostly distance running and cross-country but also cycling. During the winter months I pour my passion into coaching ski racing, I sport that i've enjoyed.

Other passions include outdoor pursuits: canoe tripping, mountaineering, rock climbing, hiking. I love to travel. Later this year I will be going to Tanzania for 2.5 weeks which I am already looking forward to.
