I lived with my mother who had vascular dementia and I cared for her 24/7 for two and a half years before she died in 2013.
Being a full-time carer can be very lonely and isolating. A couple of friends on Twitter had been blipping for a while and as I was given a rather splendid little camera for Christmas I thought it would be a good thing for me to do the same. Blip saved my sanity.
Now nearly three years down the line without missing a day it is fair to say that I am addicted. It is a lovely supportive community and my photography skills have improved so much. These days I am more likely to leave the house without a phone or my purse than without my camera. And yes, it has happened on more than one occasion…
I do a lot of food photography and bake and sell cake via Facebook.
