I work in the only mountain forest in England and live just outside the Lake District National Park, where houses are affordable, there are more sunny days and washing dries on the line. No hills or lakes though.

I’m inclined to do lots of things but not very well. There’s never enough time to do all the things you want, read all the books you’d like and travel to all the places you’ve yearned to visit. In summer I enjoy sailing on Bassenthwaite and in winter I keep on outdoor swimming.

I have family in the neighbourhood but my two sons both live abroad. I take pictures with my phone as I go about my life and enjoy writing about the beautiful part of the world I live in.
