My name is Valerie and I live a few miles from Newcastle.  I retired nine years ago.  I am married to Mr YB and we have a 31 year old son who lives in Surrey with his lovely fiancee and their little dachshund Pepsi.  We enjoy going to visit them.  I love spending time with Mr YB,  going for walks, reading, keeping in touch with friends, social history and I adore music.  I don't like making too many set plans (a hangover from doing the same routine when I was working for years and years) and just enjoy seeing what each day brings.  

Just doing a bit of an update.  I have now been retired for 10 years.  Where did that time go!  Still enjoying it though.  Our son married his lovely fiancee on 23rd March 2024.  It was a magical day.  I love looking at the photos of the wedding and watching the video as it brings such happy memories back to me.  My husband (Mr YB) and I love going to Surrey to visit our son, his wife and their little dachshund Pepsi,  We also enjoy going on holidays (mainly in the UK) and we enjoy walking together or I walk with friends or by myself.  I still enjoy the same hobbies and still don't like making too many definite plans but I enjoy seeing how each week unfolds.
