Am an absolute beginner - though interest in photography seems to run through the family with both father and brother happy snappers.

Have just purchased my first beginner level DSLR after several years of messing about with an old point and shoot. Still learning how to best use it and every day I learn something new (and further items get added to the wish list)

Found this site accidentally and thought it an awesome forum for inspiration, motivation and handy tips, tricks and feedback!

Edit: WOW! just realised I've been here  nearly a year already...though I haven't quite managed the 'photo-a-day" challenge I set myself at the beginning of this journey it's still been a really great experience!

I've learnt a lot over the past year...both about photography and about life in general!...am now looking forward to the next year...and I'll try really really hard to take at least 1 shot a day!
