I'm a very amateur photographer.  Originally from Scotland, moved to England where I met my husband, Lee (Blips as Leejohnaire), and we moved to the suburbs of Houston, Texas in 1995.

We have nice DSLRs and lenses but weren't using them as we should have been - either often enough or by adjusting many different settings.  Suddenly, neither of us was working or able to play tennis (our original time-consuming hobby here), so Blipfoto has been a godsend.  As you all know, it can occupy a lot of time and it is teaching us so much about photography.  We're really enjoying looking at the work of other blippers and the camaraderie on here is wonderful.

Later edit: So terribly sadly, Lee passed away in February 2015.  The blip community has been wonderfully supportive and I'm hoping that I'll be able to continue on this wonderful photographic journey that I started with him. So many thanks to you all for keeping me going.
