I grew up in Great Britain, on a hill overlooking the River Severn.

The Severn is 200 plus miles long and several miles wide by the time it nears the sea, so there was quite a bit of water passing by. It has the 2nd largest tidal range in the world, of 40 feet plus. When the tide comes in you can see the river bed vanishing as the water rises so fast. It is said you cannot outrun the tide over any distance because of the speed.

I have just gone through my journal, editing images and info here and there. I think I will consider this journal to have come to an end as despite good intentions I never seem to get here to add anything much new. Still, never say never eh?!

Still working on building and populating my own web site. I will stop by here now and again.
