My name is Rainer Scheinpflug and I live in South Brazil where we are known as “gaúchos”. I’m a dentist and in the off-hours my favorite hobby is photography and everything related to it. My first serious experience in this area was with an old 1961 EXA camera from my father. Without photometer which made the beginning a bit difficult. In the late 90's, I was able to buy a reflex with the prize money from a photo contest. By the way, in Brazil, photographic equipment is very expensive because the high import taxes. Finally, in 2012, I acquired my first digital reflex with which I photograph until today.
I greatly appreciate the historical images of the Golden Age of Polar Exploration and so, I dream to visit the Antarctic regions one day with my camera.
