I am an Adabrock boy, brought up on the Isle of Lewis.  In my teenage years, I had the privilege of working as a member of the field research team at Comunn Eachdraidh Nis. A significant photographic collection was pulled together, much of which was copied, developed and printed in a make-shift darkroom. Working in the red glow of the safety lamp. amidst spirals of drying film, chemical baths  would be gently rocked to reveal rows of apron-clad herring girls, kilted soldiers of the Great War and croft-work in all its various forms. But for now, to blip!
