I have a wide range of photographic interests including travel, architecture, shape and form, wildlife and people (especially candids).
I enjoy variety, so try to include as many different subjects as possible, though I do have a particular enthusiasm for candid street photography.
I sometimes get asked how I manage to take candid photos of people without them noticing (and/or smacking me on the nose). Almost all of my candid shots are taken on a camera with a touch-sensitive articulating screen. This allows the shutter to be fired by tapping the screen image at the chosen point of focus. This is all done with the camera at waist level and the screen horizontal. I often like to appear to be generally fiddling with controls and, when taking the picture, I will stare down at the camera (not directly at the subject). I usually also stand around after taking the shot, looking totally disinterested in the people around me, and even put the camera back into my shoulder bag.
I don't always have the time to thank individuals for all their comments, but I can assure you I read and appreciate all the comments and suggestions you make.
