For several years, I visited Egypt as a tourist - the first time I arrived there was the day that Princess Diana was killed in the infamous car crash! After a few years (and redundancy!) I decided to come and live here, and I've been living in Luxor for just over 8 years, and have never regretted the move.

I like and appreciate the local life here, without entirely giving up on my past life - I read the Guardian daily and listen to BBC radio online, as I realise that I will never be fully accepted as a local!

In my previous life, I was an IT manager for a multinational company, and here I use some of the skills that I have to make websites for local businesses.
