I'm a retired lecturer with ME. Like many other ME sufferers I have found photography to be liberating and capable of widening horizons in a situation which is potentially very limiting. I have many interests, always have had, from botany and geology, to music and art, and a whole range of subjects in between. Way back when I first started taking photographs I carried a huge amount of equipment around.....and often missed good photographs rummaging to find the right bit! Nowadays, unable to carry such weighty cameras and accessories, I am never without my small digital Canon Ixus, and, as a result, rarely miss a photo-opportunity! There's a lesson to be learnt out of necessity!
