In 2012 I fell upon Blipfoto quite by accident as whilst looking for something or other on the internet I came across a daily diary with photos by someone by the name of LadyFindhorn. One particular photo showed a ferry leaving Stromness in Orkney where she had been staying and visiting another Blipper, Poppy. Having always been keen on taking photos in general and particularly of my travels and writing a bit I took the plunge and joined Blip in 2012 and it’s taken me this long to introduce myself. So here’s the thing! ……….
In 2012 I was still a working girl, well past my sell by date (retirement age) but in 2015, and at long last, I became a retired lady and have lived in Shropshire for over half my life having started it in Gloucestershire, been to school in Wiltshire, worked in London and lived and worked in Hong Kong. Mother of two grown up daughters and grandmother of 3.
My Blip name of HareBrain sums me up nicely: for my love of Hares and I’m as mad as a March one, so my dear husband, Mr H, tells me!! He’s husband #2, each giving it a second go and nearly 20 years later we no longer refer to it as ‘hope over experience’! Mr H has 4 grown up children and 8 grandchildren so we are pretty busy with our extended families as they are all scattered around various parts of the country.
For the last 4 years we have loved our ‘Travels with Matilda’ (caravan) and when we’re not on our travels, we both enjoy a range of interests: Mr H is a keen aviator and never happier than when he’s up in the clouds in a powered plane or glider, and for me then I love doing a variety of crafts, working with textiles, needlefelting, knitting and crocheting, photography (although not an expert), books and music, particularly playing the saxophone (again, not an expert!), wildlife, friends and family and last but by no means least, our TravelswithMatilda.
And it’s now 2020 ………..
