It's a long time since I tried taking some decent photos. Like most people there are times when you get quite involved in a hobby and then for some reason you stop altogether and lose interest. This is a shame as I used to take photos on colour slides using a very nice Olympus OM4Ti. This camera though has laid dormant for many years. Then with the advent of Digital, I purchased a modest Olympus compact camera which had a maximum resolution of only 3 mega pixels. This was only used from time to time and was not used in a serious way although it did take some nice photos. The 3mp was a bit restricting though especially if you want to crop and enlarge photos. However as I had been thinking of buying a digital SLR with around 10 mega pixels for some time and I had always wanted to own a Nikon camera, I decided to take the plunge and purchase a Nikon D80 with a 18mm - 135mm Nikor zoom lens. Now all I've got to do is find the time to work out how its many functions operate and get out there and start photographing!
