I have been a blipper for some time - originally as half of the Gillianandnick journal, my commitment to taking cool pictures has wavered a little over recent years, matched almost exactly by the reduction in my nightly sleep pattern (children).

We are now on a new trajectory - we are selling our nice (small) house in Windsor and moving to Kuwait. I (the Nick half of GillianandNick) have a new job in Kuwait and will be going over solo for a while to get established then Gillian will join with the boys.

I plan to track my solo desert desertion on blip and then revert to pictures of the children and family life - albeit with a desert backdrop. Would love to incorporate snaps of snowboarding in Lebanon/Iran, drinks in Beirut, exploring in Oman and sightseeing in Yemen (all reliant on political stability). I also want to go surf in the wave pool in Dubai and enjoy the plentiful water parks and giant slides across the Middle East.

I am already nostalgic for Scottish mountain vistas and rugged English beaches, fortunately there are lots of blippers on hand to share.

I have a canon 5D mk I and at some point will explore an L series lens (hopefully cheaper in Kuwait)
