I am a writer-director and teacher based in Edinburgh. I have enjoyed taking photos since I was 9 and was given my first 35 mm camera. Since 2006 I have been taking digital photos, either with a Canon EOS 350D, or with my phone. I kind of miss the way 35 forces you to find and capture a unique moment - that there is so little tolerance of waste, compared with the profligacy of digital photography. I find it stimulating the way Blipfoto makes you find an image that somehow distils the spirit of the day in one shot - for me it recalls the rapidly fading film discipline that I grew up with.
