About time I wrote a bit about myself have done 200 Blips.
I’m 70 years young (doesn’t always feel that way), took early retirement at the age of 57 from a career in control engineering. Primarily to look after my wife who is disabled and is now in a nursing home unable to talk and bed bound. Have had and still have some health issues but remain active, bowling, fishing when I can find time. Have one daughter who is an “Avide” video editor for a large media house in London.
Been interested in photography since my early teens, had a dark room. All this went on the back burner when I got married. Interest was rekindled when I got my first DSLR in 2006 but didn’t really take off until 2009 when I was sponsored for a C & G course in photography. In 2011 my wife had to go into a nursing home. After getting over the initial feeling of guilt engrossed myself in my photography doing several workshops, mainly landscape, joined a camera club ( Biggleswade & District). On my last workshop with Lakeland Photographic Holidays I was persuaded to join the Blip community which has made me diversify my photography to produce something different and interesting if not sometimes outrageous. Feel free to comment and enjoy.
